Expected compensation: 32.00 USD Per Hour

HireArt is helping our client find Robot Operators to join its team at an early and exciting stage of development.

In this role, you'll operate robotic systems using teleoperation equipment to perform repeated manipulation tasks and collect high-quality training data. You'll follow defined protocols, monitor robot behavior, and provide feedback that directly contributes to improving system capabilities and operational workflows.

No prior robotics experience is required. Full training will be provided, and candidates from a wide range of professional and educational backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including STEM, aviation, operations, manufacturing, crafts, trades, and military experience.

The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, and comfortable in a hands-on environment. You are detail-oriented, consistent when performing repetitive tasks, and able to clearly communicate technical observations and issues.

As a Robot Operator, You'll

  • Safely operate physical robots for extended periods using teleoperation equipment.
  • Collect training data by repeatedly demonstrating manipulation tasks according to defined protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate autonomous robot behavior.
  • Document observations and provide feedback to engineering teams to support system development and issue resolution.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of robotic systems.

Requirements

  • Ability to safely operate robotic systems for extended periods
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing and raising arms for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency when performing repetitive tasks according to defined standards
  • Ability to follow detailed protocols and accurately document issues, edge cases, and hardware anomalies
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with video games or joystick- and remote-operated platforms, such as drones, robotics, forklifts, excavators, claw machines, arcade games, or similar technologies
  • Experience with fine motor or tool-based precision work, such as musical instruments, sewing or textiles, model building, soldering, welding, electronics assembly, dental or surgical assisting, puppetry, or similar crafts and trades
  • Competitive experience in sports, esports, music, or other disciplines requiring sustained practice, precision, and performance under pressure

Commitment:This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Mission District, San Francisco, CA area.
